Exciting isn't it? Reading High is starting to connect with other schools through their Bible Clubs. The first school we connected with was Wyomissing High School. The President of their Bible Club came to our meeting on November 19th. Friendships were started and ideas were shared. It was so awesome to hear him express the same vision we have expressed. That vision became The Gathering. It started with Reading and Wyomissing but I'm sure it'll grow and others will see what we are doing.
One of the things we did toghether was throw a joint Christmas party. It was an awesome time of fellowship. New friendships were formed and the presence of God deffinetly showed up.
The Wyomissing Bible Club meets every Friday at 2:20. They also have a website you can check out by clicking here.
We made another connection with Twin Valley. There is a student there who wishes to come to a meeting to see how the Bible club runs our meetings. He wants to learn how to run meetings because he is trying to start a Bible Club at his school. Please keep him in prayer because he is having difficulty in doing so. They are lacking a room to meet and a teacher to supervise. They do, however, have enough students to form a club. Please uplift them in prayer!
Also, Muhlenberg is starting a Bible Club. They have students, an advisor, and a room. They just have to get it all together. Pray that God will provide the leadership needed.
Finally, Bible Clubs are being formed in the middle schools! Currently there is one that has been running for quite a few years at Northeast Middle School. I will be posting when and where they meet once I obtain that information. The Bible Club at Northwest Middle School had their first meeting on February 11th, 2003. They are known as the Vikings for Christ. They meet from 3:15-4:15 after school in room 214 with Mrs. Hubbler as their advisor. God is good! Please keep Southern and Southwest in prayer. Pray that Bible Clubs will form there as well.
