That's right! Reading High School now be hosts a prayer around the flag pole every month. It started October 16th, 2002. Just like the national one, we are going to keep it the third Wednesday of every month. The next Prayer At The Pole will be October 15th. The times are 7am before school and 3:20pm after school. If you attend a different school we encourage you to start one at your school. And if 7am and 3:20pm don't suite your school's schedule then adjust it so it can.

When January came around the snow hit us but that did not stop those dedicated followers of God. 6 students and a woman from the community showed up to the calling God gave them. It was an awesome time of getting to know God and his will for our lives. After school we hit around 8 people. Apparently the snow took some after school regulars away. Not to worry, God will put it on their hearts even stronger to come out to the Prayer At The Pole the coming months.
In February two of The Knights of Glory members shoveled out the flag pole area so everyone would be able to stand on solid ground. They even salted it as well because of all the ice they had to pick out. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks to them, 9 students were allowed to stand comfortably around the flag pole and praise God for what he's done. A new record for the morning! After school we had about 12 students show up, which was average. And average can be good. We continued to show our love for Christ.
In March we had an amazing experience. It was prophicied that this month would be the greatest and God didn't let us down because it was. Hearts were broken during the morning session when we had a new record high of 12 students and two staff! God is amazing. After school we had a record low of 6 people. Isn't that ironic? It was an awesome time and God brought who he wanted. God is going to continue to move in our school and has much to reveal to us.
When April came around we had six faithful students come out in the morning. After school we had about nine students come out. God continued to move through PATP and touched the lives of the students who came.
For all of those that may not known, in May we met around the pole twice. Once for the National Day of Prayer on May 2nd. The national Day of Prayer is held every first Thursday of the month of May. There were 7 students in the morning and 8 students after school. Then during the PATP we had 5 students in the morning, one teacher and 4 students after school, one teacher. What's goin on guys, we need to start reminding everyone and come out more often. It really says something when number increase, not decrease! Well it says something when they decrease too, but that's not what we want. We must stay faithful to our commitments.
On the last day of the school, it was pretty amazing. God really revealed what he wanted to do in our lives over the summer. We had about 4 students and 2 teachers in the morning. After school we had about 8 students and 4 teachers, so it doubled! God really moved in that time and we had an awesome time praising and worshiping Him!
The first PATP (July 16th) in the summer went well. We had about 4 students show up plus one guest. God just really moved by bringing his presence. What seemed like 5 minutes turned out to be 50 minutes! It's amazing how time flies when you dwell in the presence of God.
The second PATP (August 20th) during the summer wasn't as strong in numbers as the first. But despite the low turn out. God still came. It just goes to prove that it's not about numbers, but about your heart and where you're at with God.
This year's SYATP(See You At The Pole) was amazing. In the morning we had a total of 45 different warm bodies, and 26 after school. God united our hearts and just showed His presence to everyone that was there. Also, all those coming into school saw us as we were praying. The one after school was great spiritually. God moved a lot more than in the morning. We even prophicied to our flag pole! It was frozen and God wanted it to become a pillar of light. We also made it on the channel 69 news and our camera man was a born again Christian! God is good.
The next PATP will be on October 15th.
